CONCERT AT PIGEON BAY.
A patriotic conccrt and dauco was held at Pigeon Bay on Wednesday night under the auspices of tho Pigeon Bay Oddfellows' Lodge, r in connexion with the Banks Peninsula King Carnival. THe entertainment took place in Mr A. Goodwin's grninshed, tho floor of which proved in excellent crder for dancing. Electric lights, including two 400 c.p. arc lamps, wero installed free of charge by Andersons Ltd. The shed was gaily decorated for the occasion and there was ;ui attendance of about 200 people. A highly appreciated concert programme was submitted by the Christchurch Auto-pierrot Troupe, assisted by Miss Stella Goodwin, Meseic H. Cropp, and C. Xathan (pianist). An address was given by Mr Pettigrew, in which he outlined tho history of tho local Oddfellows' Lodge, and thanked the residents of the liny lor their generous support in connexion with the Peninsiula's pairiotio effort. The conccrt concluded nt 11 p.m., when tho floor was clcared for dancing, which was continued until an early hour in the morning. The arrangements for the entertainment wero carried out by the following committee of Lodge members: —Messrs H. Pettigre w, R. Kelly, A. McKay, A. Helps, J. and G. Reynrah, who worked in conjunction with the Banks Peninsula Patriotic Committee, consisting of Messrs J. Pettigrew, J. C. Hay, and J. Pitcuithlyr Tho proceeds from the entertainment amounted to £17 16s. Among those attending the concert were visitors from Christchurch, Lyttelton, Akaroa, Little Akaloa. Le Bons, Port Levy, Duvattchelle, and okain3. The Auto-pierrot Troupe wero given a free return trip from Lyttelton to Pigeon Bay on the steamer Monica, and they arrived back at port at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
