Tho amiual meeting of ilia Canterbury Branch of tho public Service Association was held on Tuesday at the Magistrate 3 Court. Mr T. E. Webb presided, and thcro was a fair altcndanco of members. Tho annual report stated that tho question of a social room had been gone into, but after giving the matter full considreation, it was decided that the present wes not an opportune time to establish a social room. The Caah Purchaso Association continued f o flourish, and tho year had boen a record one. Tho war bonus had been paid to members of tho service, and while it did not meet the increased cost of living, it had provided a welcome addition to salaries. An endeavour to obtain a larger bonus for junior cadets had been unsuccessful. Practically the whole of the police force in Canterbury had become members of the Association. The bal-ance-sheet. showed a credit of £8 3s IOJd. Tho report nnd balance-sheet, after a. brief discussion, wero adopted on the motion of Mr Morrison, seconded by Mr Rogers. Tho following committee was elected: — Lands and Survey, Mr Webb; Agriculture, Mr Cameron; Labour, Mr Jackson; State Fire, Mr Morrison; State Mines, Mr Kich; Ju6ticc, Messrs Price and Jonee; Lands and Deeds, Mr Black; Insurance Department, Mr "Waite; Valuation, Mr Pullar; Public Trust, Mr Morrison; Public Works, Messrs Thomas, Stennear, and Gray; Mental Hospital, Messrs Crowder, Paul, and Rog«e; Internal Affairs, Mr Wortbington; Audit Mr Jordan; and Stamps, Mr Kennedy.
