The conditions under which slipe wool will bo taken by tho Department oi Imperial Government Supplies aro &ot forth in a "Gazette Extraordinary." Tho Department ' is prepared to purchase all Blipo wool hold in store in New Zealand on November 16th, 1916, or produced thereafter in Now Zea< land, up to and including' November 80th, 1918, by tlio freezing companies on certain conditions. The following conditions wiQ govern tha purchase of Elipc wool in respect of which invoices have been rendered to the Department of Imperial Government Supplies prio' to April Ist, 1918: — , The price. to bo paid for the slipe wool wil bo determined as follows: —(a) Prom th average gross price per pound received fa each and every grade of slipe wool produce* by any- such company and sold in London between January let and December 81st, 1914, there shall be deducted tho sum of ljd poi pound, representing shipping' expenses, freight, and other charge*. (b) To th< residue in each case shall be added a sun equal to 55 per cent, thereof. (c) The said residue, plus the said 55 per oczit., shall b« the prices per pound to be paid respectively for the same grades of slipe wool produced by such company up to Juno 80th, 1917. In the case of sUpe wool is respect of which invoices have not been rendered to the Department prior to April let, 1918, the wool will be valued in aocord&noa with a 1 schedule of prices. Sheep—24o9 were penned. - The quality was better than last week", although a larg< proportion was only medium. There was a good demand for prime at' late rates, ana at times beyond them.
