The Waimate dog trials, which were held in splendid weather, resulted as follows: — Class 3, Head, Bring Back, and Yard. J. Trotter's Pace, 34 points .. .. 1" A. Bfooker'3 Jim, 33 points ..2 W. L. Mackenzie's Don, 31 points .. 3 B.F. Whitney's North ope Dirk, 30 points I J. McAughtrio's Loy. 28 points .. ..5 T. Adauisou's Tip (25 points) won the first maiden prize, and tho same owner's Lassie (18 points) the second prize. Class 2, Hunt Away and Slew. J. McAughtrie's Brandy, 38 points .. 1 7<.
