TELEGRAPH NOTICE BOARD-MAY 17. Arrived—Wanganui: Breeze (2 a.m.), from Lyttelton. Wellington: Maori (7.5 a.m.), from Lyttelton. Sailed—Wellington: Maori (7.50 p.m.), for Lyttelton; Calm (12.30 p.m.), for Lyttelton. SHIPPING NOTES. It is reported that the United States Government has takon over the American mail steamer Siorra, and ehe has been withdrawn from the Australian trade. The Sierra is a 10,000-ton liner, and she has for somo time formed one of tho Oceania Steamship Company's fleet of fast passenger boats plying between San Francisco and Sydney. She will bo replaced by the motor-driven ship Selandia.
The New Zealand Refrigerating Co.'s steamer Tainni is expected to arrivo at Lyttelton from Wanganui on Monday.
Captain Drewett has resumed command of tho Monowai, relieving. Captain Poorly, who had temporary command of the vessel. The Rosamond leaves Gisbomo to-day with a full load of sheep for Lyttelton.
