Sir Robert Borden announced that tho Government would inevitably take over the Grand Trunk Pacific railway, the same as tho Canadian Northern, already purchased. Both would operate purely as Government railways.

Coughlan's shipyard, the largest in British Columbia, has been burned. The damage is estimated at £500,000.
