The chairman of the Mackenzie School Com-, mittec wrote asking the Council to erect notice briajds near the school ■warning' motorists to drive slowly; also requesting- tho Council to put « few loads of B-inglo on the footpath leading to the school.—lt was agTced that these matters be attended to as soon as aud the clerk was instructed to writo to the Canterbury Automobile Association, asking if it would eypply notice boards. The Mackenzie Dom&iu Board asked the Council to clear gTase and debris from tho creek crossing' Fox street.—Agreed to. Tbe Hospital Board vrrote, sta-tiug that it had. decided to gTant JBtJO for the s*c«w ending March 31st, 1919, towards th* Cheviot Medical Subsidy Fund, subject to the approval of the Minister of Hospitals. Cr. llutherford gave* notice to move at the next meeting of the Council: "That a general rate of id in the £ be levied on nil the ridinjrs of the Countv of Cheviot, and a specia~ rate oi l-30d in the X on tho Hawksv;ood and I'arnagsus Ridings of the said county. It v.os resolved that all unpaid rates bo sued fox, also that the owners of xinregistered. dogs be proceeded against. Mr C. Antonio was appointed sexton.
