The "Evening Post's" Washington correspondent says that the Allies have a device attached to patrol vessels whereby they are able to hear and locate submarines 30 miles away. Thisaccounts for the heavy destruction of u-boats in the last few months.

BADGES FOR SEAMEN.

LONDON, May IS. His Majesty has approved of the award of badges to officers, Beamen, firemen, and stewards who continue to go to sea after being torpedoed or mined. The badge will bo in the form of a torpedo, and will be worn on the left sleeve.
