The Irish Primate, in opening the Synod at Dublin, lauded the men who did not hold aloof, to save thoir bodies and lose their souls, when duty called. The Primate added: "May God mercifully forgive our misguided fellowcountrymen, whose abstinence from service will ever constitute the darkest blot on the tragic page of Irish history." The Lord Mayor of <Dublin has received passports to enable him to visit America, to expound the Irish attitude on Irish conscription.
