(By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.)
(Reuter's Telegrams.) (Received May loth, 7 p.m.)
LONDON, May 14
A change of attitude on the part of the Unionists regarding Home Rule was indicated in a speech by Mr Chamberlain at a Unionist meeting, in which he declared that it was a question whether* in view of the new circumstances which had arisen, the Unionists should not take up their former attitude that Home Rule was not a question for Ireland alone hut concerned Jlngland Scotland, and Wales. A solution of the whole problem was urgently demanded, therefore, he asked the Unionists to look the new facts in the face with an open mind.
He declared that the Government was not indifferent to peace, but it was idle to talk peace -until the issue was decided on the battlefield.
