BOWLING- CLUB. It is gratifying to note that tho Borough Council has decided to assist tho local Bowling Club by reducing tlic rental of the ground leased by it. The club has spent a large sum of money in improving and beautifying a section -upon which were previously several dilapidated buildings. Owing to the war tho membership has fallen to 2C>, ;i.'nd with a corresponding docreaso in subscriptions, assistance from an outside source was required in order to ovoid linancinl difficulties. RED CROSS WORKERS. The Lytic]ton branch of the Red Cross Society will hold its annual meeting in the Lyttelton Borough Council Chambers tonight, when the ■nr.iiual report and balancesheet will be presented, and tho 'election n; officer® for tho ensuing year will tako place. 'J'he Mayor, Mr W. T. Lester, will preside. THE PICTURES. The sensational pictorial drama, "Will the Wisp," starring Mabel Taliafarro, a picture iu which a mysterious highwayman proves to be a dainty woman, was presented yeoterday 'afternoon and evening at the Harbour Light Picture Theatre, and will be repeated this evening. _ An exoellent Paramount production, entitled "Arms and the Girl," featuring Billio Burke, will be screened to-morrow.
