UTILITY POULTRY CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. Tho 14th annual meeting of tho New Zealand Utility Poultry Club was hold 'aat night, Mr S. Dick presiding over a largo attendance of members. A letter was received from Airs Howell asking that a committee be eet up to elucidate a "mix up" which had occurred in somo teams of ducks entered in the recent coiif etition. This was agreed to.

Tho annual report stated that tho past year had been one of steady progress, and it was very gratifying to note the keen interest ' manifested in the club by members, and the largo attendances at tho business and educational meetings. In reviewing tho work of tho previous 12 months prominence was given to the framing oi a utility standard for tho Dominion, the 6ound financial position of the club, and tho succets of tie educational campaign. Mention was also made of tho annual conference held at Easter, and the egg-laying competition, which had been an exceptionally fine one. In touching on the intention expressed by Mr J. rt. Shaw, secretary, of relinquishing his position, eulogistic references were made to his splendid and invaluable services eince tho inception of the club.

The financial statement showed that there was iv credit balance 'on the 13th competition of. .£76 8s Id, after starting- with a deficit of JE37 8s 6d. Tho balanco of assets over liabilities was £579 183 Id.
