Earl Brassey lias given notices of motion for the Royal Colonial Institute's meeting on May 29th, that the separation of Imperial matters from tlie Motherland's domestic affairs is urgently necessary; that the settlement of the future constitution of the United Kingdom is an essential preliminary to the discussion of the future government of the Empire at a special Imperial Conference at the conclusion cf the war.

MEN FOR THE ARMY

LONDON, May 13. Arrangements have been made to enable the Army to take 30,000 of the younger agricultural workers of the fittest category before July. It is expected that the authorities will considerablv utilise German war prisoners for agricultural work.

In the House of Commons Mr Walter Long introduced a Bill to improve the organisation for affording information and assistance to emigrants from the United Kingdom.
