The Minister recently wrote to I-ip'l- - I'nrke" rogiuding the steps that should bo taken to seen re co-ordinntion of treatment of the men returned to this country after being treated m hospitals in England. Colonel Parkes ha. replied: "Wo aro endeavouring its for as possible to secure co-ordination of treatment, and particulars o treatment and nlso recommendations are forwarded with the mon, especially in orthopedic ca?es, also tho woik fot which thev arc best suited. Sir Janies Allen said that the New Zealand orthoptic treatment rua was quite up-to-date Dr. H was a verv good man on this subject. Colonel Parkes has written as follows with regard to the manufacture of artificial limbs: -There will shortly ho despatched to New Zealand three mechanics under Sapper Cook, who have fcceivcd instruction in the best methods of artificial limb manufacture, loth in the United Kingdom and in France. 1 am sure they will l"ot® to ho highlv efficient, and I hono before Jottc to hear that not only the repair, hut the complete manufacture of artificial limbs is accomplished in tho L>ojninion."
