SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE.
RESOLUTIONS OF BRANCHES

WELLINGTON, May 14. At a general meeting of the Second Division League, held to-right, a number of remits to the Dominion Conference were passed, including the following:—
"That all sine die exemptions be immediately reviewed bv a .Board to be specially set up for the purpose." and "That in future physical fitness be the only factor to determine whether or not men shall serve in the military forces, except in the case of men permanently employed in essential national work."
Tho meeting pledged itself to support whatever measures were; considered necessary by the Conference, and closed with the singing of the National Anthem. PALMERSTON NORTH, May 4. A largely-attended meeting of tho Second Division League passed the following resolution: "That this meeting loyally and steadfastly determines to assist the Government to bring the war to a victorious ending, and we t,im to procure, if possible by constitutional methods, conservation of the welfare of all soldiers by securing adequate allowances for their dependants."
In answer to a question the chairman said that in many eases in which application to the Financial Assistance Hoard for assistance towards paying fire and life insurance premiums had been turned down, further representations bv the Central Executive had been successful, wholly or in part, in securing reconsideration of the claims made.
It was also resolved: "That thin meeting urgently requests the Government to remit the sentences passed <;n Hunter. Lancrlcy, and Flood, of Christchurch, on the ground that they are unduly severe and are calculated to Tjroduce a feelincr of resentment ant? lessen public faith in the fairness or the authorities."
