LONDON, May 12. The" outbreak of mysterious and destructive fires continues in Germany. The last instances were the destruction of_ the Berlin municipal granary, containing 1000 tons of cereals : also tho burning of 15,000 acre& of forest at Ochtrup, in Westphalia.

LONDON, Mav 12. The situation in both Austria and Hungary is perilous. German papers predict the resignation of the Austrian Premier, Ritter von Seidler, who is faced by almost insuperable difficulties in connexion with tlie southern Slav agitation and other racial problems. Von Zogler, the Slav Minister, has resigned, owing to a threatened return to aggressive measures against tho Slavs.

As regards Hungarv, the announcement is made that Dr. Wekerle, whilo apparently granting universal suffrage, insists that every voter must be master of the Hungarian language. This effectively bars the masses of the Slavs.
