, THE PICTURES. "The Lost Paradise," a charming world romance, and Syd.. Chaplin in a clever pictorial absurdity, entitled "Rascal's Wolfish Ways," were presented at the Harbour Light Picture Theatre at Saturday's sessions, and will be repeated this evening. To-morrow Mabel Taliaferro will appear in "Will o' the Wisp." PERSONAL. Mr W. T. Lester, Mayor of Lyttelton, and Mrs Lester, who have been spending a week in Wellington, returned to Lyttelton by the ferry steamer yesterday morning. CHRYSANTHEMUM: SHOW. The proceeds from the Chrysanthemum Show, held in the Excelsior Hall. Lyttelton, on Thursday and Friday in aid of tho funds of the local Methodist Church, from the various stalls, competitions, and sale of flowers, fruit, vegetables, etc., amounted to over £125. SEAMEN'S INSTITUTE. The past week has been a fairly busy one, about 90 seamen and I 5 officers having made use of the Institute. Six sick in the hospital and on shies in port were visited by the missioner, Mr S. Booth,. and 10 bundles of books, magazines, etc., and 8 new Testaments wer© given to visiting seamen. The Lyttelton Ladies' Guild held a meeting on Friday night, and it was decided to hold a uroduce sale shortly in aid of torpedoed crews.
