EIGHTH DAY. Yesterday tho annual festival of tlie Christchurcli Literary and Musical Compotions Society was advanced a atep further. Good attendances were recorded, and some highly meritorious performances wero witnessed, especially the English character recital, which was held to bo one of the best yet judged.
