CANTERBURY FLYING CLUB.
The Canterbury Flying Club -flew a young bird race from Parnassus, 141 birds "being l liberated at 2 p.m. by the stationmaater. Tie weather was dull, but a favourable vrind enabled the birds to put up faet time, tho winning bird, Greek Maid, flying 73 miles 1007 yards in lhr 4&min ssec. Tho following is the result:—Woodhouse Broe.' Greek Maid, 1198 yards velocity per minute, 1; "W. Hewitt's No. 31, 1195 yds, 2; D. Dore'o No. 78, 1190 yds, 3. E. Fucha's No. 74, 1178 yds; F. Kingsford's No. 21, 1177 yds; C. Show's No. 601, 1165yda; B. J. Finnegan's Magk, 1165 yds; F. Wilson, 1156 yds; T.'Newton's No. lot, 1131 yds; \V. Cumn)jug's No. 491, 1103 yds; H. Browning's No. 29, lCo4yde; G. Billicliff'fi No. 70 1055 yds; J. Shipton's Li«l coin Yet, 1002 yds; W. Terry's No. 172 M4y<k; and H. Pearson's No. 390, 333ydfl also competed.
