RETURNED INSTRUCTORS.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAX.) AUCKLAND, May 9. The attention of the Minister of Defence Las been drawn to a statement made by certain non-commissioned officers who gave evidence before the Defence Expenditure Commission on Tuesday, to the effect that their services had not been availed of sufficiently in instruction camps, although they Had, as they believed, returned from En eland on duty as instructors. The Minister said he had made enquiries into this matter. "When men came ont no instructions were received regarding them, and it was assumed that they were on duty furlough. It was not until Hay 2nd that word was received from Home that these men had been sent out as instructors, and the men, 26 in nnmber, were, therefore, being retained as instructors, and a memorandum had been sent to the Commission on May 4th, clearly setting out the position.
