CAMBRIDGE TERRACE METHODIST CHURCH:. Tlie anniversary services of the Cambridge terrace Methodist-. Church were conducted by th© Revs. J. J. North, Dr. Erwia, and J. Cocker. The congregations were somewhat affected by the inclement weather, but the collections were a Sttle in advance of those of last year. On' Tuesday evening the anniversary tea was held, and wa« well attended. The public meeting was presided ores by the Alavor (Mr H. Holland), and addresses were delivered by the Revs. J. Daweon (Wellington), W. Laycock (Lccston). G. E. Moore, and A. T. Thompson. During the evening Mr E. W. Hall, on behalf of the congregation, presented a Tiurse of sovereigns to Miss Flora Holland, "honorary organist, who for several years has done good service. Mr Holland suitably replied on behalf of his daughter. The report showed that the increase in the three places in the circuit had amounted trf over £16 per week for the past year. WEST CHRISTCHTTRCH SCHOOL COMMITTEE. j The West Chriatchurch. District High School Committee met on Wednesday, Present—Dr. Chilton, (chairman), Messrs H. Holland, E.'Parlane, E. Ing'is, J. Middleton, H. ! S. "Wiitham, And G. Barrel!. The headmaster reported that the attendances during the last four weeks were satisfactory. In the Primary Department the roll numbers were: Boys 353, girls 336} and the average attendances 333 and 313. respectively, and in the Secondary Department the roll numbers were : Boys 151, girls 97, with average attendances of 147 and 92 respectively. The scholars had contrtßuted £2 4s 8d to buy | material for handkerchiefs for the Ladv Liverpool Association, and £1 3s lOd towards the collection on Honey Day. The chairman agreed to confer with the headmaster to see what could be done to induce parents to take a more active interest in the school work. The extending of an invitation to them an certain days to see the school at work was suggested as one way in which this could be accomplished. Messrs Bultitude and Middleton were appointed a Visiting Committee.
