RIPA ISLAND PRISONERS.

Though the officers of the Defence Department have no official information to give on the subject, it is generally understood that the Gorman prisoners or' war now interned on Ripa Island are to bo sent back to Motuihi Island, in Auckland harbour, the place from where they made their sensational
escape. Count vou Luekner, Lieut. Kircheies, and a German naval prisoner liave been confined on Ripa Island in chargo of Major C. 'V . Leeming, M.C., for some months now, but the coming of winter weather has proved tho island to bo unlit for the site of an internment camp, the conditions having had a bad effect on the health of the prisoners.
