vrnuss association TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May S. At 4.20 yesterday morning an incipient firo "was discovered in the attic of the Eastern Extension Cable Company's office in this city. The flames wore quickly extinguished by the officer in charge, and the damage done was negligible. .But for early discovery tho fire, might have done serious damage to thy plant, the value of which can scarcely be estimated at the present moment. The cause of the fire is a mystery, which tho police are' endeavouring to solve. It is only four years since the Cable Company's premises at Wakapuaka tvere destroyed by fire under mysterious circumstances.
