AWARDS FOft BE AVERY. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TKLIGBAM.) WELLINGTON, May 7. Tlio following message, dated Ma* oth, lias been received from the New Zealand official war correspondent, Mr Malcolm Ross:— During minor operations last night the New Zealanders advanced into tho German trenches, and after killing between 30 and -10, took back ten prisoners. Our position was very slightly improved. Prisoners state that the preliminary bombardment killed several. Tho trench mortars did effective work. The following awards are announced • D.S.O. Parsons (Field Ambulance). Lance-Corporal F. A. Gaskell (Rifle Brigade). Lanco-C'orporal McMurray (Rifle Brigade). Lance-Corporal W. G. Bowers (Rifle Brigade). Lance-Corporal S. W.
