HUNTLY MINERS CEASE WORK.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, May 7. The Huutly coal-miners are not working at present. They will hold a stop-work meeting to-morrow to confaider certain grievances. First, tli: explosivo supplied is said to be very weak; second, the new safety gates in tlie cages ordered by Mr Heed, Chief Inspector of Mines, are said to be so slow and awkward in operation that tho men lose much timo and thereforan equivalent amount of money.
