(Received May sth, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 4. The Italian Embassy here has received no news of any offensive. Advices from Rome state that German units »re concentrated with the Austrians on the Trentino front. THE AUSTRIAN REPORT. (Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association.) ' (Router's Telegrams.) An Austrian official report states:— "There is fighting activity with considerable violence on the whole Italian front from the Giudicaria Valley to the Adriatic." (Received May sth, 11 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. An Austrian official report states: — "In the smith-west lively fighting continues." ALLIED AVIATORS ACTIVE (Received May sth, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. An Italian official report states: — "British and Italian aviators are active. , They brought down 12 hostile machines on Friday.'' WASHINGTON, May 3. Official advices from Rome say that a Czech Legion, former Austrian subjects, is fighting with the Italian Army. Croatian units havo been formed to fignt against the Austrians. Many members of the Legion units were former Italian war pensioners. MORE HUN BRUTALITY. (Router's Telegrams.) . (Received May sth, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, May 4. An Italian officer recently escaped from a Hungarian prison camp. He was recaptured and mercilessly beaten. Othor prisoners protested to the Commandant, who ordered the guards to fire, killing the lieutenant and wounding nine other prisoners. The Italian papers are demanding reprisals.
