FrGURKS FOR APRIL. During April representatives d tlio Discharged Information' Department found employment for 157 returned soldiers in various districts. The head office pisiccd IC2 (not all. for the city); Auckland, 21; Christchurch, 9; Dunedni, 6. On April 30th the "Employment Wanted Register" contained 3t)(> names for the Dominion (tl agencies):—Auckland, 111 (nuijorir.y just lwtr-d): Christehurcli. GO (majority j«>.t lifted); Dunedin, 30; Wo.lington, 12: Hastings, 12. The total number of names put I through the department's register to April 30th is 17,(570, comprising 12,71-4 disposed of. 2852 under action, and 2074 not ready for action. The under-action total is made up thus: —Reports upon cases not yet,returned by officers making enquiries, 788; I awaiting further advice (including men j who have stated that they arc not "ready • for work), 1688; at present on Employ- : inent Wanted Register, chiefly men just i discharged, and listed to committee® 396.
