MEETINGS AND SOCIALS.
REDCLIFFS PUBLIC LIBRARY. The annuel meeting of subscribers of th-s Redclifls Public Library was held on Friday night, there being a very fair attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that donations had been reoeivod from the Sumner Borough Council and Mr K. Simpson. The Library now had 1000 volumes on the shelves, and was making good progress, while the fee had been fixed at 4s Gd a vcar. There waa a balance to credit of £1 9s 3d. The eleotion cf oUicers resulted as follows:—President, the Mayor of Sumner; vico-presidents, Mcsart G. ii. Wood (chairman), C. Moon, A. Ilolden, S. Betterley, J. Ses-ior, W. Lthendge, S. Gibbs, and J. H. Peek (secretary); trustees, Messrs G. H. Woods and C. Bishop; auditor, Mr F. H. Cotton. LOYAL ADDINGTON LODGE. At tho usual .fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Addington Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Bro. J Paterson, X.G., presided. It was stated that Bro. Gahngan'e presentation would take place on Juno 10th. In connexion with this function a sub-committee wus_ set up to arrange a musical programme. Certification wa a received of tho date of the official visit 10 tho Loyal Kainpoi Lodge, and a hearty invitation was extended to memWii to at-end the meeting. Several sick pay matters wer® dealt with. Following tho adjournment, tho ladies were entertained at progressive euchre, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. After a very keen contest Mrs W. R. Galiagan won the ladies' prizs and Bro. A. L. Gourlay the gentlemen's. It is the intention of tho lodgo to hold these functions monthly during tho winter.
