PHYSICAL TRAINING.

' v GIIEAT SUCCESS OF Cl CAMP. In reply to a question by a "Press" representative yesterday, Sir James Allen (Minister of Defence) said that the matter of providing an appeal tribunal in connexion with the medical examination of reservists had not yot reached him, but the Minister took the opportunity to refer to the work being done at the Cl Camp. "The Cl Camp'," Sir James said, "is startling evidence of the value of the special physical training of mon. I tell you that we will get over 50 per cent, of the who go into the Cl Camp physically fit for the front. It is almost impossible to say definitely that a man is not fit until he has been to this camp, 'l'hore is the question of men sent to camp who are ultimately turned down. It is asserted that this is a waste of money, and that the man's business has been disturbed. It is perfectly true, and we are very sorry ior it, but the case of such a man is not so bad ns if he had not been discovered to be physically unfit, and had been sent on to run the risk of going to the front. The lessons we are learning at the Cl Camp will be carried out in our civil life after the war is ended, for it has been shown that with physical training we can make men physically fit."
