"NAVY DAY."
Next Friday is "Navy Day," the object of which is t<j eliable the Navy League in this district to provide for the dependants of those heroes Who give up their lives ill tho North Sea and elsewhere in order that We, in comihori with Other portions of the Empire, separated by Water from the Mother Country, may exist. It is also desired to support Lord Boresford's Fund by providing comforts in the shape of additional warm clothing and other things for those brave souls who have been exposed to tho hidden dangers arid wintry blasts of Northern Seas since August, 1914. Supplies for naval hospitals and hospital ships and for Royal Naval prisoners of war in enetrtjf countries are also asked for. In addition to a street sale of badges, far which mariy helpers are required, stalls are being organised for tho sale of goods as follows: Japanese, flowers, produce, sheets, flags afld post cafds, variety, cakes, curiod, and refreshments. There will also, be a competition, for which the prize is a model railway, complete in every detail.
