GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF NEW ZEALAND.
A. COMPLIMENT TO THE DOMINION. (press association teleorau.) WELLINGTON, June 27. In recognition of services rendered by New Zealand sincc the outbreak of war, the King has been pleased to command that tho title held by the Governor shall bo changed from "Governor of New Zealand" to that of "GovernorGeneral," and letters patent, dated May 11th, 1917, to this effect have been passed and tho great seal of tho United Kingdom bcon affixed. His Majesty tho King has been graciously pleased to approve tho appointment of the Rt. Hon. tho Earl of Liverpool, G.C.M.G., M.V.0., to be the first Governor-General and Com-mander-in-Chief of the Dominion of New Zealand. His Excellency, in accordanco with his Majesty's command, will take tho oath of his new office at noon tomorrow on tho steps of the Parliamentary library buildings.
