WRONGFUL USE OF TICKET. -Karl Edgar Curry was charged that he_ permitted another iw>reon to use a privilege. ticket order for the purpose of obtaining a railway concession ticket. I 1 ranees K. Bower wa6 charged at the same time with using an order for a concession ticket without being entitled to do so. Curry was fined 40s and costs, and the other defendant was conrioted and ordered to pay costs. THEFT. Thomas Wilford Hartley (Mr Hunt) was charged with the thert of £4 6,s in money, and five pics, belonging to Richard Musson. Mr Hunt, in pleading guilty, said accused enlisted with tho 22nd Reinforcements. and later, while in camr>. absolutely broke down. He was suffering now from neuritis and neurasthenia. Ho had beon kept at Hanmer Springs under observation, but gained leave to see his dying brother. On his way back he got- drunk, and wliilo in this state committed the offence, in the nrcsence of otheis. , The Magistrato, after hearing the evidence, said tho man scorned a nervous wreck, and became vorv much more influenced by liquor than would the average man. Had accused been m good health, ho probably would have resisted the temptation. Taking into consideration the fact that tho man broke down while endeavouring to servo his country, ho would merely convict him, and order him to come up'for sentence when called upon any time within six months. FAILURE TO NOTIFY. Stephen Clarence Packer (Mr Cuninghnm) was charged under the Military Service .Act with failing to give notice of his change of address. A fino of 20s was imposed. DISMISSED. D. Main <M r H un t) was charged that he employed a shoo assistant for moro than 52 hours m one week. The charge was dismissed.
