George Horne admitted a charge of having obtained goods to tho value of £1 lis Gd from a Fairlie draper by falsely representing himself to be employed on the Glenmark Estate. As other charges were pending against him, ho was remanded to appear at Timaru on Juno 11th. LYTTELTON. (Before Messrs F. W. Anderson and G. C. Smith, J.P.'s.) Gordon McKenna, for deserting from an overseas vessel, was fined 10s and costs, and ordered to be put on board the ship. Wm. At the Magistrate's Court this morning a young man named John Clements, pleaded guilty to a charge of i'oiging and uttering at Cambridge. At the Supreme Court to-day, the Chief Justice, Sir Robert £tout, placed ' .Ulan Wilfred Wolfe, 18 years of age, On probation for three years and ori dercd him to repav £10 involved, and j clso £5 cost 3 of the prosecution. ' Sydney Clarence McCarthy, 15 years I of age, found guilty of carnal knowi ledge, was also admitted to probation ; for three years, and ordered to pay £1 a month, for six months, the costs of tho prosecution. ! James : Thorburn was fined the amount of the ■ expenses of the action, about £80, 'for assault on Ihomas McKinley it Whangare! in December. McKinlev's leg was broken in a senfle. Accused denied it was the result of a kick. The evidence showed that there was bitterness between the two families owing to nn affiliation ease in which McKinlev's brother was defendant. The Judge ordered three months' imprisonment in default of payment, Thorburn to keep i the peace for twelve months.
