RED CROSS FUND.
LACKISTON,
On Thursday a very onjoyable Red Qrosa social afternoon was held in tho Lauriaton School, when there waa a largo attendance. Mrs A. McCorraick presided, and amongst the visitors present were Mes dames W. K. Watson, C. W. Nicol, Boag, Todd, and Rg6S, from Ashburton and R&kaia respectively. Addresses were given by Mrs "Watson and Mrs Boag. and Mrs Todd, Mrs Ross, and Miss Lily' Sullivan contributed bolos. Several new members were enrolled, and the half-yearly subscriptions (123 6d per member) were paid in. Afternoon tea waa dispensed.
