Acceptances for the Canterbury Jockey Club's Summer Meeting, together with subscriptions for tho Middle Park Plato, are due on Thursday evening. Mr T. H. Lowrv recently had the misfortune to lo6e a full yearling brother to Desert Gold. He also lost the previous foal (a filly by Finland), from Aurarius. Desert Gold's dam has been particularly unlucky. The only Ricearton stable to be represented at the Marlborough Meeting will be that of A. McAulay, who has Mr A. W. Rutherford's team nominated, namely Samisen, Daytime, and Furling. Tho two crack juvenile fillies in the South Island are Ample and Kilrea. They are billed to meet in tho Dunedin Champagne Stakes. Kilrea will probably be a starter In the Middle Park Plate on Saturday at Riccarton, and Ample in the Lyttelton Plate.
