Anderson has joined the Storm ae chief officer. . Lieut. A. J. Baylor, late chief officer of the Komata. and other of tho Union Company's ships, ha® been posted as lieutenant to on© of H.M. Dreadnoughts. The training ship Amoltura i 3 undergoing repairs at Wellington preparatory to leaving for th© northern islands. A suction dredge is now in the course of construction at Lyttelton. The dredgo is being mad© to the order of Mr Joshua Little, and when finished will bo put into operation on the Heathcote River. It will be> fitted with the latest pumping machinery, and will be driven by electricity.
