I>ESTORATICN AMD TIED CROSS FUXDS UNITE. HARVEST FESTIVAL IX APRIL. The joint, executive committees of the Belgian Agricultural Restoration Fund (represented by Messrs H. Overton, G. Gould, A. S. CI ark son and Dr. Levinge) and the British Had Crosss Society and Ordei of St. John (represented by Messrs A. E. G. Rhodes, M. J. Gresson, and E. Nordon), met in the rooms of tho A. and P. Association, with tho view of discussing the advisableness or otherwise of the bodies working conjointly in tho proposed forthcoming Harvest Festival.

Aftor most careful consideration of the interests of both funds, the tueeiing unanimously resolved to make one united effort, and equally divide Iho proceeds of same. Mr A. E. G. Rhodes accepted the office of president, and Mr H. Overton that of chairman of joint committees.

Considering the importance of a thorough organisation to make the proposed Harvest Festival satisfactory in every respect, the meeting decided to secure the services of the very best man available, who would give tho whole of his time from January to April to the work; applications for the position will be invited by advertisement.

The present secretaries of the Red Cross and tho Belgian Agricultural Restoration Committees will, in the meantime report, to the different. A. and P. Societies and Red Cross organisations throughout Canterbury the decision of the meeting. iyid their co-operation and assistance, should make the Harvest Festival, which is to.be held towards the,end of April, an unqualified success. 1

The next meeting of the committee will be held on 12th January, 1917.
