LADY LIVERPOOL FUND.

MAORI BRANCH. For some time her Excellency the Countess of Liverpool has undertaken the packing of g'fts to the Maori boys at the front. Last Christmas a large number of parcels were and since that time the General Committee of the Fund have been steadily at work forwarding th«> gifts, which, beeido & largo number of useful articles, included, a draft of £100 to Lord Plimket to purchra: sweets, tobacco, and cigarettes. Mrs Pomaro » a very active member of the Wellington Committee, and her Excellency asked her to undertake the Teoeiving- and packing of gifts for the Maori boys from all parts of the Dominion. CONCERT AT SUMNER. Mr F. C. Raphael's Concert Party visited ISumncr on Saturday eveninp, and gave a concert in. aid of tho Redcliffs Lady .Liverpool Fund, thero being a large and appreciative audience. Musical items woro given by Miss Edna Joughin, Mies 1). Davis, Mrs •Vernon Irving, and Messrs B. B. Wood, Vcro Buchanan, G. H. Holford, Vernon Irving, and F. C. Raphael. A very successful fancy fair, organised hy the ttedcliffs Liverpool Committee was held on Saturday afternoon, when there was a. largo attendance of residents and visitors. The function was opened by Mrs Holland (Mayoress of Christcliurch). who outlined tho work dono by tho Lady Liverpool Fund, and referred to tho larg* number of articles sent forward. Th« speaker congratulated the local committee in arranging such a successful gathering, and thanked them for the 'n«eista.n(v> rendered since their formation. Mrs Holland was then presented with a bouquet of sweet peas, after which threo cheers were given for the Mayoress, on the call of Mr Adley.
