The cup, which was selected by Sir James Carroll in Lon, don. arrived in New Zealand by the Ruahine. Nominations for the Wellington Racing Club's Summer Meeting close at 9 o'clock this evening. Acceptances for the Wyndham Racing Club's Annual Meeting fall due tomorrow night. Rudston. the winner of the First Amateur Handicap at New Brighton, paid a handsome dividend. He Just managed to win by a head from Wild Night. Lady Moth was made a very hot favourite in the .Sea View Handicap, but could do no better than run second to Dora McKinney. She has never accomplished anything in public, and why she was made favourite is a mystery. Many thought Author Dillon won the Mace -flemorial Handicap, but the judge placed Oinako a winner by a head. It was certainly a close finish, still the judgo could easily distinguish the winner. Bank Note ran disappointingly in the I Sea View Handicap, and stopped to a I walk in the straight. This littlo horse j will have to improve considerably if he is to win a., classic race. | Ben Dillon is a good miler. In the Dash Handicap he finished brilliantly. Coming from the back ho raced alongside Queen Patch wh.cn that marc ajj-

pearod to have the racc won, and snatched a victory by a head. H. j? rost handled .\nuio I>illon perfectly vrhen she won tho Elcctric Handicap. The chratnut should ty? heard of again shortly. Cor.a Dillon pulled up in the Bowhill Handicap after Roin£ a furlong, some part of the hopples giving -way. It was rather unfortunate for her supporters, and she had many, being the favourite.
