SHIPPING NOTES. The Karamu arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Greymouth with a . timber. After discharge, she loads for Westport and Greymouth. sailing to-morrow. The Wakatu arrived at Lyttelton last evening from Kaikonra, and w.U sail to-day for Wellington, via. Kaikoiiia. _ , ~ , Advioe has been received to the cffect that tho Huddart-Parker Line's steamer Wimmera will resume running next month. Leaving Melbourne on January 6th she is due at Wellington on the 11th and at Lyttelton on the 14th. ... i The barque Ronpo is expected to leave Lyttelton for Auckland to-morrow. At present slio is short of her full complement of men. , Captain J. Tiiompsoru late of the Kurow, has joined tiie P-.iteena as extra chief officer preparatory to taking command of tho Tatapuna on Monday next. An arrival at Lvttelton yesterday vra* the. Mr W. Ay I ward liu-a. resigned from the service of the" Union Company, and has been A'upointfxl third officer of the Aurora. Mr W. Kirk, late tliird officer of the Ruahino. left the vessel at London, and joined the Oravi at Avon month as second officer.

A projected departure from Melbourne on Wednesday was the Union Company's steamer Kamona. The .veeee! wiil call at Bluff, Dunedin. Lyttelton. and Wellington.

The Shaw, Savill and Albion Line's steamer Kia Orn left London ot\ November 4th for Auckland. Wellington. Lyttelton. and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about the 20th instant.
