Lord Inchcape, in presiding over the annual meeting of the Peninsular and Oriental Company, protested against the establishment of tho Australian Government's shipping line, and said that if the example were followed and extended, it would inevitably kill private enterprise. If all the stories one heard were true, then enemy submarines were being constantly sunk. He was perfectly confident that the Navy would overcome tho momentary difficulties.
