LAEtrE ENTRIES, (BT OCT COMOTBCIAL EPIIOB.) There were large, entries of almost al] classes of ftock. and a good attendance. Store j-licep. which wero mostly shorn wether.-, and ewes, were not in great, demand, and prices showed no improvement on last week's value?. Fat cattle were somewhat irregular, but on the- whole about equal to last j week's rates. Prime fat. lambs maintained their values, but unfinished sorts were easier. The lambs were not as good as the week before, and are showing tho effects of the continned dry weather. Fat sheep sold somewhat irregularly, but priecs on tho whole were about equal to those of the previous week. Storo cattle were in keen demand at advanced rates, and dairy cons sold well. Fan pigs were easier, but stores showed some improvement. STORE SHEEP. The yarding of store sheep was largo, though hardly as heavy as at last week's sale, comprising mostly shorn wethers and hoggets. The quality generally was good. Ewes, with lambs, filled several pens. Prices wero about on a par with the lower level ruling last, week. Some good wethers were forward from the Chatham Islands. The range of prices was as follows: — 2-tooth ewes, 25s to 325. 2 and 4-tooth ewes, 30s. 4 and 6-tooth ewes, 25s to 2Gs, 2 and 4-tooth ewes aud lambs, all counted, 17s 4d to 235. Failing-mouthed owes and lambs, all counted, 19s 9d. 2-tooth wethers, 20s Hd to 27s 3d. 4 and (i-tooth wethers, 23s 2d to 325. FAT SHEEP. Tho entry of fat sheep showed an increase, there eleven full races. There was a large proportion of verv prime quality, but, as in the case of lambs, the sheep arc beginning; to look very dry in the wool.
