THE TOTALISATOR BILL. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, December 13. The Totalisator Bill was read a second time. Mr James said that if the machines were abused or badly run, the Government would take control. It was expected that tho revenue would amount, to £400,000. Mr Bruntnell denounced tho Bill as an incubator for gambling, and said that in New Zealand women almost rushed over one another in order to get their money on. CADETS FOR BRITAIN. SYDNEY. December 13. The Governor-General bade farewell to the first contingent of cadets from the Naval College, who are proceeding to England for duty as midshipmen with the British Fleet.
