MILITARY FUNERAL.

LATE LIEUTENANT G. S. LAMBIE

The funeral of the late lieutenant j G. S. Lambie, adjutant of the 13th j (North Canterbury and West-land) Regiment, was held yesterday afternoon at tho Papanui public cemetery, the cortege leaving the deceased's lato residence, 42!) Papanui road," at 2.30 p.m. The gun carriage was provided by the E Battery N.Z.F.A., and the firing party was supplied by the Christ's College Cadets, under Captain Earthing and Lieutenant Lusk. Tho Rev. J. Hay, Chaplain to the Forces, officiated at the grave side. The 13th (North Canterbury) Regimental Band was in attendance, and alcso members of B and C Companies, 13th North College and Boys' High School Cadets and Nos. 'J, 13, and v -25 Companies of North Canterbury Senior Cadets. The principal mourners were: Messrs G. Lambie, J. and D. H. Sidey, J. I Reid, and J. Bruce. | The pall-bearers were: Lieutenants Wild, Kesteven, and Stark, and 2nd j Lieutenants Shankland, L. Davison, and Skevington, of the 13th (North Canterbury) Regiment. There was a large attendance of brother officers and civilians at the funeral, including Colone] Chaffey, O.C. Mounted Rifles, Captain Stevenson and officers of the Ist (Canterbury) Regiment, Captain Jeffries - and officers of the 13th North Canterbury Regiment (Captain Jeffries and Lieutenants Lawn and Hanan having arrived specially from the West Coast to be present). Captain Montgomery) O.C. Boys' High School Cadets, Captain Irving, N.Z.M.C.. Captain T. L. Cowlisliaw (Motor Corps), Captain Salter (Reserve of Officers), Messrs C. I.
