In tho legislative Assemblv the official Labour Opposition stonewalled the Premier's motion to suspend the Standing Orders to permit the introduction of a Bill prolonging the life of Parliament for twelve months. A heated debate ensued, but after the division for the suspension of the Standing Orders was carried, the Bill was introduced and taken into Committee. "EIGHT-HOUR'' DAY
('Received November 19th. .3.5 p.m.) SIDNEY, November 19. Showers aijsin somewhat interfered with the postponed "eight-hour" demonstration, but there were large rallies of unions. There were many excellent designs in the procession* and the sports on the agricultural grounds attracted great crowds.
