The official figures of the compulsory enrolment, are 149,199. It is reported that 56,518 have claimed exemption, that 34,802 h'ave been declared unfit, and 60,301 fit.
We give the above figures as received, out the separate classes do not agree with the total.
APPEAL FROM THE DOCTORS
MELBOURNE. October 14
The Victorian medical men who have been at tho front have issued a manifesto appealing to Australians to vote "Yes" in the referendum.
THE I.W.W. INFLUENCE
HOBART, October 14. Mr W. M. Hughes announced _ that on the declaration of peace conscription would automatically cease. Referring to the anti-conscriptionists, he said ho had proofs that the I.W.W. was chiefly responsible for the attitude of the Labour organisations towards the Government's proposals.
