The prices of food and groceries in the 30 principal towns of the' Commonwealth decreased during August by 1.6 per cent. ,According to statistics published .by the , Commonwealth. Statistician, the decrease occurred entirely in dairy produce, the price levels of meat and groceries remaining practically stationary. As compared with August, 1915, there was a. decrease of 8.1 per._ cent.
