(Australian and TT.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 7. Lieut. Harold Fitzherbert, of the Sussex Regiment, formerly of Wellington, lias been killed in France. v PERSONAL NOTES. Captain R. A. Dearsley, reported wounded, was a well-known Christchurch dentist, and secretary 'of the British and Foreign Sailors' Society. He joined the Main New Zealand Expeditionary Forco in a dental capacity with the rank of lieutenant, ana was subsequently promoted to captain. Sir iJohn Flndlay has received a cable message from the SecrotaryN of the War Office, London, stating that the second of his two remaining gpns, Captain J. Lloyd Findlay, East Surrey Regiment, was seriously wounded on the 4th inst., and is lying in the General Hospital, Boulogne. Trooper Horace Polglaze, Third Reinforcements (posted as missing, but now believed to bo dead) was '27 years of age, the seventh son of Mr Joseph Polglaze, Hamijjoln, Waikato. Deceased was born at Nelson and educated at Mangatainoka. He was for several years with Rouse and Hurrell, coachbuilders, of Wellington, and for 6omo years had a business at Pongaroa. He was "a Forester, a member of the Pongaroa Brass Band, and an adept at bicycle racing, winning the race from Pahiatua to Woodville and back with a big field, a distance of twenty miles, for -which ho received two gold medals, one being for the fastest time. When he enlisted he was a dairy farmer at Hamilton. Lieutenant W. A. Gray (wounded) is the youngest son of Sir S. Gray, clerk to the Mount Eden Borough Council. Lieutenant Gray was educated at the Auckland Grammar School and the Auckland University College, having achieved an excellent record at both institutions. At college he obtained the degree of Master of Science, and succeeded in winning a senior university scholarship and the Gillies and Grey scholarships. Subsequently he studied engineering, obtained the degree of A.iM.I.C.E., and entered the employ of Mr H. H. Metcalfe, of Auckland. Immediately prior -to enlisting he was a- member of the district railway engineer's staff. He joined the force?; as a eergeant. ■> Lieutenant Gray wa-s well known in athletic circles, having been a member of the University Cricket and Football Clubs, and captain of tho University fifteen. Acting-Sergeant George Stevenson Bagnall (dangerously wounffed) is tho third eon of the late Air Albert C. Bagnall, of Tnrua, Auckland. He enlisted at the commencement of the war. On August Btli, at Gallipoli. he was wounded and invalided to England. Subsequently, he was attached to an artillery company, with the rank of acting-sergeant. Prior to enlisting, lie was employed in the office of Messrs John Burns and Company. Limited, Auckland. ActingSergeant Bagnall is about 27 years of age. His brother, Bombardier Alan Bagnall, left for the front with a reinforcement draft.
