OFFENSIVE DEVELOPING. The High Commissioner reports: LONDON, June 8. Ari official communique says : — "The saccosscs of 'our troops arc developing on the south-western front. "Since the beginning of the recent actions our armies have, taken prisoners 900 officers and 40,000 men. They have also captured 77 field guns, 134 machine-guns, 49 trench mortars, as well as searchlights, telephones, and munition?. A number of the captured batteries were intact. "Jn the recent fighting proof has been given to the enemy of the increase ill our war material."'

An Austrian official communique says: — "In the face of superior forces in Yolhynja and. on the Upper Pntilocka we withdrew to the plain of Lutsk. 40 miles west of Rovno." CLOSELY PRESSED. GENERAL BRCSILOFF FUSHIXG HARD. (Received Juno Bth, S.oO n.m.) PETROGRAD.. Juno 8. The Russian offensive, under General Brusiloff, is being so closely pressed that the enemy is unable to transfer troops from one point, to another.
