OOYERJiMENT CONSIDERATION. (special to "THZ rBBSS.") "WELLINGTON, June 7. In the legislative Council to-day, tho Hon. Dr. W. E. Colling asked whether the Government trill, owing to the vast amount of injury inflicted on mankind by venereal diseases, take into consideration the resolutions carried at tho meetings of the Australasian' Medical Congress held in Melbourne in 1908, and in Auckland in 1914, and also the recommendations issued in the final re-
port of the Royal Commission on Venereal Disease set up by the Imperial Parliament, with a view to adopting such measures as are -within the scope of the legislative enactments at present on the Statute Book of this Dominion. Sir Francis Bell replied that the Government recognised the vast amount of injury inflicted on mankind by venereal disease, and it was having a report prepared as to tho extent of such diseases in the Dominion, and in considering legislation in regard to this matter, the Government had recognised the importance of the recommendations published in the final report of the Koyal Commission 0 n Venereal Disease. 1916. ' The Hon. Dr. Collins asked the permission of the Council (which was granted) to lay upon the table a summary of that final report, and tho recommendations and resolutions carried at the Australasian Medical Congress in I#OS.
